Tapati Chowdhury is an assistant professor at the Jindal School of Art and Architecture. Her specialization is in Painting. She has received an M.F.A. degree from the Fine Arts College at Syracuse University, New York, and pursued a B.F.A. degree from Kala Bhavana, under Visva-Bharati University, at Santiniketan, West Bengal. She is pursuing a Ph.D. from the Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, and Technology, Bengaluru. Her research area is Bengal Art during the crisis period of the 1940s. She is interested in community art practice and finding the network of artistic language that flows within society.
